Assistant Procurement Manager – Construction
Global Construction Contractor
Central London – (2 days WFH per week)


Are you a procurement professional with experience in construction supply chains, looking to step up and broaden your skills? This is an excellent opportunity to join a globally recognised construction contractor, supporting major UK projects that are shaping the future of the built environment.

As an Assistant Procurement Manager, you’ll work alongside senior members of the team, gaining exposure to large-scale programmes while playing a key role in supporting procurement strategy, supply chain management, and sustainable delivery. This role offers structured career progression, mentoring, and the chance to grow into a leadership position over time.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Assisting with the management of subcontractor and material categories across multiple construction projects
  • Supporting relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Helping to prepare market intelligence, risk assessments, and category insights
  • Providing commercial support through data analysis and financial due diligence
  • Contributing to supplier performance reviews and improvement initiatives
  • Supporting the development of business cases and assisting with negotiations
  • Promoting sustainability goals including net zero carbon, offsite construction, and materials reuse

What We’re Looking For 
:
  • Procurement, supply chain, account or category management experience
  • Construction industry background highly desirable
  • Familiarity with supplier relationship management and negotiation
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills

Skills & Attributes:

  • MCIPS qualified or working towards (or equivalent experience)
  • Degree or equivalent
  • Confident with IT systems and data analysis
  • Organised, pragmatic, and numerate
  • Collaborative team player who delivers on commitments
  • Eager to learn, develop, and progress into future leadership
