Senior Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation – Outside IR35
Rate: Circa £450 per day
Contract Duration: could extend all the way to 2028
Hybrid role: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote
An end client / developer who operate in the Power and Energy sector is seeking to strengthen its commercial project delivery team with the appointment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor.
This is a long-term contract opportunity and has been determined as OUTSIDE IR35.

The key elements of this assignment:
- Measurement: Take offs from drawings to quantify changes as the Clients design develops and estimating cost impacts with respect to the same.
- Contract Administration: Managing Contractor’s Contract including evaluation of quotations for Compensation Events, auditing of Contractors’ Defined Cost including identification of Disallowed cost, managing the Application for Payment process and final accounting.
- Financial Reporting: Preparing and presenting Contract Status Reports and feeding data into the Client’s project controls function.
- Communications: Working closely with project managers, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
To deliver this service effectively, it is required that you will have:
- Extensive experience with administering commercial aspects of NEC forms of contract particularly in relation to options C, D or E.
- Ability to perform accurate take offs from M, E & I drawings and quantifying and cost estimating in respect of the same.
- Have recent experience of using take off software, such as Bluebeam or Cost X
- Be educated to degree level in quantity surveying, and ideally be MRICS, although this is a nice to have
