You will be joining an industry-leading contractor with a strong reputation for professionalism, collaboration, and quality delivery.
The Role

    • Managing project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and CVR reporting, ensuring accuracy and consistency
    • Preparing, submitting, and agreeing interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
    • Identifying, pricing, and negotiating variations and change control throughout the project lifecycle
    • Ensuring applications for payment and payment notices are submitted and received in line with contract conditions
    • Maximising cash flow while operating within contractual and company requirements
    • Procuring and managing subcontractor and supplier packages, including placing purchase orders and subcontract orders in line with procurement schedules
    • Ensuring all subcontract and purchase orders accurately reflect scope, terms, and contract requirements
    • Administering main contracts and subcontracts, including the preparation and issuing of contractual notices
    • Identifying commercial risks, disputes, and potential claims early, providing clear commercial advice to senior management
    • Working closely with project managers, site teams, designers, consultants, and clients to ensure commercial alignment with programme delivery
    • Reviewing drawings and specifications to identify commercial risks and opportunities
    • Attending client, subcontractor, and internal meetings as required
    • Managing, mentoring, and developing junior members of the commercial team
Requirements
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (RICS-accredited preferred)
    • Proven experience operating as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the fit-out, joinery, or interiors sector
    • Strong understanding of cost control, CVR reporting, subcontract procurement, and cash flow management
    • Experience working with standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT)
    • Excellent ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications, with accurate measurement capability
    • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and commercial management software
    • Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation, and communication skills
    • Methodical, detail-oriented, and proactive approach to problem-solving
    • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and lead commercial teams effectively
    • Strong knowledge of UK construction practices and industry standards
