People Group has collaborated with an established and highly regarded construction project services consultancy based in Manchester. Due to continued success and future instructions the building surveying division is looking to strengthen with the addition of a Senior Building Surveyor.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded surveyor who enjoys client-facing work, technical delivery and mentoring junior colleagues, while playing a key role in high-quality property and construction projects. The role is to continue growth and progression across the North West. Ideally the successful Senior Building Surveyor has an entrepreneurial attitude.

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will take responsibility for managing instructions from inception to completion, delivering a broad range of professional and project-led services across commercial, residential, and mixed-use sectors.

The Role
As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will take responsibility for managing instructions from inception to completion, delivering a broad range of professional and project-led services across commercial, residential, and mixed-use sectors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering professional building surveying services such as dilapidations, condition surveys, defect analysis, and technical due diligence
- Managing refurbishment and fit-out projects, acting as Contract Administrator and Employer’s Agent
- Leading client relationships and contributing to repeat business and referrals
- Supporting and mentoring junior surveyors and graduates
- Assisting with fee proposals, programme management, and commercial performance
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice standards
About You
- BSc in Building Surveying
- MRICS qualification
- Strong technical building surveying background
- Proven experience working within a consultancy environment
- Confidence in dealing directly with clients and stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, collaborative, and commercially aware approach
