We are currently recruiting for a well-established contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality interior fit-out and modular system solutions within the drywall sector across London and the Southeast.
We are seeking a commercially astute and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from pre-contract through to final account, ensuring cost control, value engineering, and financial reporting are delivered to the highest standard.
You will be working for our client, a leading sub-contractor with over 20 years of experience operating across the construction industry.
As a Quantity Surveyor, your principal roles and responsibilities will include:
  • Managing project costs from tender stage through to final account.
  • Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
  • Assessing and negotiating variations, change control, and compensation events.
  • Procuring subcontract packages and managing subcontractor accounts.
  • Monitoring project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports to ensure commercial targets are achieved.
  • Working closely with project managers, site teams, and design teams to ensure commercial alignment with programme delivery.
  • Reviewing drawings and specifications to identify commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Attending site meetings and client meetings as required.
  • Ensuring contractual compliance in line with agreed terms and conditions.
Job Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the dry lining, fit-out, or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of commercial management for drywall systems, lightweight steel framing, suspended ceilings, and screeding packages.
  • Experience working with standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT).
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of UK construction practices and industry standards.
