Project Manager - Civil Contractor

Here is a chance to join an organically growing business with a strong (and profitable) trading history stretching back over 40 years. Revenue sits at around the £40M mark with an order book that reaches into 2026. They are aiming to be a £50M revenue business in the next 3-5 years. 


As a niche and highly specialised Marine civil contractor, they offer a unique service to their client base which sits across both the Public and Private Sectors, including high net worth individuals. Typically operating as a Principal Contractor, they delivery design & build projects up to £15M in value. They excel at winning work by offering alternate technical solutions, and add further value through the ECI process.

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the development and delivery of technically challenging design & build projects across London and the South East.  Most of the projects in London will be along the Thames river. They are also in ECI on a couple of larger projects across East Anglia and on the South Coast. 


You will simultaneously manage the five key phases of projects delivered under framework agreements as well as those won competitively. You will ensure projects are completed under price, to prescribed timescales and required quality whilst effectively managing safety, environment and where appropriate heritage issues. You will lead across; ECI where required, Estimating & Tendering, Design (permanent and temporary works), construction/delivery and project close out, including settlement of final accounts


For you to be successful in this position, you will:

• Hold demonstrable experience in delivering civil engineering projects as a number one, with values in excess of £1.5M
• Be educated to HND or Degree (or equivalent) level in Civil Engineering
• Ideally have experience of working on marine or wet civil projects. Alternatively, be well versed in horizontal civil engineering scope such as earthworks and piling.
• Have a clean driving licence and a willingness to travel across London and the South East (within reason)

On offer is a salary of around 75,000 per annum with a car allowance OR company car (EV or hybrid), paid travel, matched contribution pension, profit share bonus and 25 days holiday
