I’m representing a respected medium-sized MEP contractor that is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team on a flagship £7.5m M&E data centre project. This involves converting an existing commercial building into a fully functioning data centre — a technically challenging, high-value project offering strong long-term career prospects.

TAs Mechanical Project Engineer, you will support the successful delivery of all mechanical services on the scheme, working closely with the project management team and specialist subcontractors.

Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing mechanical installation works to specification and programme
• Reviewing drawings, technical submittals, and method statements
• Managing quality assurance, inspections, and commissioning activities
• Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal teams
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety and project documentation

What You’ll Need

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Engineer within MEP contracting
• Track record of delivering commercial or data centre projects
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical building services
• Ability to manage packages, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and drive progress on site
