Our client, a leading Tier 1 MEP Contractor, is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support delivery on one of two flagship new-build commercial schemes, each with an MEP value between £30m – £50m.
These projects are among the most prestigious and technically complex developments currently underway in the City of London.
The Role
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the mechanical delivery team, reporting to the Mechanical Project Manager and Project Director. You’ll be responsible for coordinating design, managing subcontractor activities, and ensuring mechanical systems are installed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the mechanical project manager in delivering the mechanical package from design through to commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate mechanical design information and resolve technical issues during construction.
- Monitor installation progress and quality, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Assist with procurement, material take-offs, and subcontractor coordination.
- Work closely with electrical and project teams to ensure smooth MEP integration.
- Support testing, commissioning, and final project handover documentation.
- Experience working on large-scale commercial or mixed-use new-build projects.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, pipework, public health).
- Excellent coordination and communication skills.
- Experience within a Tier 1 MEP contractor or major main contractor preferred.
- Relevant mechanical or building services qualification (HNC/HND/Degree).
