Salary: £75,000 - £110,000 experience dependant, Day Rate Available CIS or Ltd

We are working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected M&E contractor with a strong national presence and an impressive portfolio of technically complex projects.
With decades of experience delivering large-scale infrastructure schemes, the business has built a reputation for engineering excellence, innovation, and successful project delivery across mission-critical environments.
Due to continued growth and the award of a major data centre project in Essex, they are now seeking an experienced Design Manager to join the team.
The Role This is a key position within the project leadership team, responsible for managing and coordinating the full M&E design process on a large-scale data centre scheme.
You will act as the link between consultants, subcontractors, the commercial team and site operations, ensuring the design is compliant, coordinated, buildable and delivered on programme.

You will act as the link between consultants, subcontractors, the commercial team and site operations, ensuring the design is compliant, coordinated, buildable and delivered on programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the M&E design process from pre-construction through to completion
- Review and coordinate mechanical and electrical designs to ensure technical compliance
- Drive design programme and ensure timely information release
- Chair and lead design meetings with consultants and supply chain partners
- Identify and mitigate design risks early
- Ensure integration of services within a complex, high-spec environment
- Work closely with commercial and project teams to manage change control
- Oversee technical submissions and client approvals
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Design Manager within an M&E contractor environment
- Strong background delivering mission-critical or large-scale commercial projects (data centre experience highly desirable)
- Excellent understanding of building services coordination and technical compliance
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
