Commissioning Manager (3–5 Years’ Experience)
Location: Oxford
Basis: Permanent or Freelance Basis
Salary: £80,000-£100,000 + Benefits Package / Negotiable Day Rate CIS or Ltd

A forward-thinking MEP consultancy is seeking a Commissioning Manager with to support and lead commissioning activities across a range of technically challenging projects. This is a career-defining opportunity for someone passionate about delivering high-quality building services and leading commissioning works from early-stage design through to handover.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake commission ability reviews during design and pre-construction phases to influence buildability and operational functionality.
  • Oversee all aspects of MEPH commissioning, ensuring delivery meets project and client expectations.
  • Apply a detailed understanding of ATP procedures and ASHRAE guidelines throughout project lifecycle.
  • Lead technical workshops 
  • Represent commissioning interests in project meetings with a confident, solutions-focused approach.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and client teams to deliver commissioning deliverables on time.
  • Produce and maintain commissioning records and reports using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Ideally, assist in the development of commissioning programmes using Microsoft Project or Asta Powerproject.
Candidate Profile:
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a commissioning role within MEPH environments.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, public health systems and integration within complex building environments.
  • Comfortable leading meetings, managing teams, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
  • Based in or around the Midlands with the ability to work in London as needed.
Desirable:
  • Experience in programme development and tracking using MS Project or Asta Powerproject.
  • Exposure to commissioning within commercial, residential or mixed-use schemes.
