Job description

People Group is recruiting for Graduate and Assistant Construction Assurance Specialists to support a leading rail consultancy. They have won work on CP7 ASPRO frameworks in the Eastern regions. ASPRO requires construction assurance support to fulfil the requirements under NR/L2/CIV/095 Asset Protection and Optimisation Management of Third-Party Works on Network Rail Infrastructure, NR/L2/CIV/096 Asset Protection and Optimisation Management of Outside Party Works, NR/L2/RSE/CONM/001 Construction Management for Projects.

We have multiple roles available across Derby, London (Kings Cross and Stratford), Newcastle, Peterborough, and York.

Rate: £265 Inside IR35
Duration: 12 months
Start date: ASAP
Working Arrangements: 3 Day/Night/Weekend shifts based on-site/office


Responsibilities:
  • Assist in monitoring construction activities for compliance.
  • Support constructability reviews and audits.
  • Help validate design risk assessments and interdisciplinary checks.
  • Involved with managing NRSWA Projects.
  • Review and approve Construction Phase Plans, Work Package Plans, and site-specific risk assessments.
  • Collate and submit documentation for review and acceptance.
  • Support tracking and reporting of discrepancies between planned and actual work.
  • Support AMP/EIS process for asset data exchange and maintenance.
  • Help identify and report quality or performance issues.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and best practice sharing.
  • Support close out of non-conformances.
  • Liaise with site teams and outside/third parties to support collaboration
  • Attend planning meetings.
  • Maintain site diaries and contribute to assurance reports.
  • Provide administrative and functional support to the Asset Protection Team.
  • Assist in reporting engineering issues.
  • Input into Construction Assurance Risk Management.

To be successful in this position, we’re looking for someone who has:
  • Understanding of Network Rail standards and assurance principles.
  • Proven exposure to construction or engineering environments.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Awareness of H&S legislation and procedures.
