Senior Project Engineer - Mechanical OR Electrical

Play a key role in leading across the design of projects, helping to define client requirements, appoint and then manage the interface your external design consultants. 


You'll be responsible for managing programme and cost as well as ensuring constructed projects are done so in line with approved design.

Some of your core responsibilities will be to:

• Deliver effective design management on projects.
• Develop the project scope for design and installation of Building Services
• Develop the design brief for external design consultants, ensuring that the design contract is implemented and effectively managed
• Seek safe and cost effective design solutions to meet project requirements
• Manage external design consultants, ensuring that design outputs are reviewed, co-ordinated and meet quality requirements
• Define, in collaboration, the asset information requirements within the Employers Information Requirements for both design and construction contracts.
• Monitor, coordinate and provide technical input to any design changes throughout the construction and handover stages
• Support the construction team with management of safety and quality on site, ensuring that the construction on site aligns with the design and that quality testing meets necessary requirements.
• Support with answering queries and technical RFI's raised during Design, Tender and Construction work

To be successful in this position, you will: 

• Be educated to HND or Degree level (or equivalent) in either MECHANICAL or ELECTRICAL Engineering
• Have experience in engineering design or design management on projects with LV / HV networks, in multi-disciplinary complex projects
• Experience in managing and monitoring quality
• Knowledge and understanding of BREAAM
• A CSCS Card

On offer is a salary of between 60,000 - 65,000 per annum along with a generous benefits package which includes the 20% bonus, a cash/travel allowance, private medical insurance, rail discount and an enhanced employer pension contribution.
