We are recruiting a Senior Construction Manager to join a client side organisation in the Transport sector. This role offers you the chance to work across a major programme, overseeing multiple live projects, some running concurrently, with annual spend ranging between £30M–£50M, and individual project values reaching up to £30M. To keep things interesting, all projects are delivered in live operational environments.
This is more than just a site leadership role; it's a position of real influence and strategic oversight. You'll be working client side, with genuine opportunity to shape projects from early development through to delivery.

The position is offering a salary of around 75,000 per annum, a signing on bonus AND a generous annual bonus of up to 20%, a 4,750 flexible annual allowance and the usual suite of additional benefits including an enhanced employer pension contribution (6%, rising to 8%), private medical insurance, 25 days holiday (rising to 30 days), share saver scheme etc

What you’ll be doing
- Lead construction management activities across your entire programme
- Develop and manage a team of up to 10 direct reports, plus supply chain partners
- Champion safety through regular engagement: safety tours, inspections, and performance reporting
- Review and support contractor submissions around CDM, HSE, and ensure compliance
- Oversee quality and commissioning documentation, including ITPs and daily reports
- Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with specifications and drawings
- Support onboarding of contractors—including logistics, security, and interface planning
What you’ll need to succeed
- Degree (or equivalent) in construction management or a related engineering discipline
- A solid background in the construction industry — 10+ years' experience is expected
- Operational experience is highly valued — think rail station or airport terminal projects, or similar
- Comfort working in a high-assurance, process-driven environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills — you’ll be working with a lot
- Good working knowledge of the NEC contract
