The Role
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will take ownership of one or more mechanical projects from pre-construction through to handover and aftercare. This is a hands-on and highly visible position, with the opportunity to work on significant schemes alongside Tier 1 developers and main contractors.

The Role
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will take ownership of one or more mechanical projects from pre-construction through to handover and aftercare. This is a hands-on and highly visible position, with the opportunity to work on significant schemes alongside Tier 1 developers and main contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering delivery across all stages of the project lifecycle
- Work with estimating and project teams to develop winning bids and deliverables
- Produce and coordinate working and construction drawings in collaboration with consultants
- Interpret and develop technical plans, CAD drawings, and BIM models
- Procure sub-contractors, plant, and equipment packages up to £2M
- Manage the technical delivery of specialist systems including BMS and fire sprinklers
- Attend client and internal meetings to monitor programme and commercial progress
- Oversee mechanical commissioning and ensure smooth project handover
- Collaborate with the commercial team to forecast costs, manage procurement and mitigate risk
- Ensure all work is carried out to the highest health & safety standards
- Support junior engineers and contribute to team development
- Proven experience in a similar role within mechanical contracting
- Strong technical knowledge of building mechanical services across both residential and commercial projects
- Demonstrated commercial awareness and project ownership
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and managing the coordination process
- Ability to lead, plan, and prioritise effectively
- A proactive, professional approach and a passion for high-quality engineering
- Basic salary: £70,000 – £80,000 (depending on experience)
