Health & Safety Manager
Tier 1 MEP Contractor / building services
Data Centre Project
North London
£40,000–£70,000

An established building services contractor is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a major data centre project in North London. This is a site-based role supporting Health & Safety operations on a large-scale, technically complex development.

Role Overview
The Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust H&S standards on site, working closely with project and delivery teams. This is not a lead or standalone role; the successful candidate will operate within the contractor’s internal Health & Safety management systems and report into senior H&S leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the day-to-day management of Health & Safety on a live data centre project
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant H&S legislation, standards, and internal procedures
  • Carry out site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Assist with incident investigations and reporting
  • Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across site teams and subcontractors
  • Work closely with MEP and construction teams to manage H&S risks in a technically demanding environment
  • Ensure all works align with the company’s internal H&S systems and processes

Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within construction or building services
  • MEP experience would be highly advantageous
  • Data centre experience preferred
  • NEBOSH qualification (or willingness to undertake – training can be funded, with a two-year commitment)
  • Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and site-based best practice
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider H&S team
  • Additional Information

The position supports an ongoing data centre project with approximately two years remaining
Salary range: £40,000–£70,000, depending on experience
