Fire Engineering Manager (Detection / Suppression)
MEP Design & Technical Management (Infrastructure Markets)
Circa £700/day Ltd, temp to perm
Our client is at the forefront of the mechanical, electrical and telecommunications market with expertise and long-standing experience across Rail, Highways, Power, and Tunnels. They have secured 7 – 10 years’ work, on major and high-profile infrastructure projects, UK wide.
We are looking for an Fire Engineering Manager with experience of BS9222 and BS9299 to be responsible for all design and engineering activities across sectors. The Engineering Manager ensures technical excellence, team leadership, and project integration across design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Working closely with Project Managers and Heads of Discipline, they oversee internal and supply chain teams to deliver safe, high-quality, and value-driven outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering/design across projects, ensuring cost, time, and quality targets.
- Ensure compliance with clients’ design management, assurance, and quality systems.
- Drive constructability, HSE best practice, and technical excellence through design reviews.
- Liaise with internal/external stakeholders to integrate requirements effectively.
- Provide accurate design estimates and resource planning; track design changes.
- Conduct design audits, resolve non-conformances, and manage sector engineering resources.
- Oversee documentation: design registers, RFIs, TQs, MARs, and risk registers.
- Perform CAT 1/2 design checks and act as Design Manager on smaller projects.
- Support graduate development and foster a collaborative, innovative team culture.
