Please note this a an initial 4 month contract, an immediate start is required.

Role: Finance Assistant
The Finance Assistant will support the management and monitoring of the financial performance for a key client account. The role involves working closely with the Client Services Finance Business Partner and the wider client services team to provide accurate and timely financial information. Responsibilities will include producing both internal and external financial reports and supporting the delivery of client accounting requirements. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
  • Produce monthly client management packs for presentation to contract managers and the Portfolio Director.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly departmental management accounts and internal financial review packs for client accounts.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Validate client invoices in line with agreed processes and procedures.
  • Ensure purchase orders are raised and correctly coded to the appropriate nominal accounts, and provide support to local Facilities Managers with any training queries related to Proactis.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly and annual management and statutory accounts in line with group financial reporting deadlines.
  • Produce ad hoc financial reports as required.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with HS&E procedures, contractual obligations, legislative requirements, and local policies.
  • Report any non-conformance, unsafe act, or unsafe condition to line management for investigation and corrective action.
  • Attend regular finance meetings with members of the wider finance team.
  • Provide additional financial and administrative support as required.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, the corporate accounts team, and management to ensure a consistently high level of service.

Requirements – Knowledge, Experience & Skills
  • 1–3 years’ experience in a similar finance or accounts role.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Experience using Sage Intacct would be advantageous.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff, clients, and suppliers at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Experience working within the relevant sector or region would be beneficial.

Qualifications
  • A degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Professional memberships or progress toward a recognised accounting qualification would be advantageous but are not essential.
