Job description

Want to be part of one of the largest ground engineering projects in the UK – if not Europe? Keen to travel the world for work, with opportunities in destinations such as Hong Kong, the Middle East, and Australia? Looking to join a business that offers a clear development path towards becoming an Engineering or Technical Manager?

We’re seeking an Engineering Manager to join a global leader in ground engineering. With operations in over 25 locations worldwide, this company is a recognised market leader and part of a major international construction group, offering both financial stability and a strong pipeline of future project work.

Initially, you’ll be assigned to one of the UK’s largest standalone infrastructure projects, where you’ll play a pivotal role in the technical delivery of multiple work packages within this landmark ground engineering scheme. You’ll be instrumental in developing innovative, cost-effective solutions and tackling complex engineering and technical challenges to help deliver this project successfully.

What will you be doing?
  • Support the technical management and delivery of engineering projects from tender to execution
  • Ensure compliance with standards and contribute to innovative, cost-effective solutions. It includes collaborating with UK and international teams, participating in technical reviews, and promoting knowledge sharing. The position also involves coordinating engineers and draftspersons, managing specific technical packages, and working closely with technical centres and partners.
  • Manage the technical aspects of projects from tender through execution
  • Manage the coordination and review of design activities in line with ISO procedures, Eurocodes, and industry standards
  • Provide hands-on technical support to project teams to help meet programme, cost, quality, and safety targets
  • Contribute to the development of innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions
  • Participate in technical reviews and contribute to value engineering during tenders
  • Engage in knowledge-sharing initiatives and support the continuous improvement of technical processes
  • Support the coordination of technical engineers and draftspersons in the UK
  • Collaborate with Technical Centres and external partners
  • Prepare technical documentation, case studies, and marketing content
  • Represent the organisation in technical discussions with clients and stakeholders

What do you need?
  • A Degree or Masters in Geotechnical, Civil, or Structural Engineering
  • Significant post-graduate experience gained working for a contractor or consultancy across ground engineering projects
  • Be familiar with Eurocodes, DMRB, CDM, and HSEQ standards
  • Have experience in using geotechnical or structural design and engineering software

What's on offer?
A salary of between £80,000 - £90,000, plus a car allowance of around £6,000, 26 days holiday, Employer Pension contribution of up to 8%, Private medical cover and a Performance related bonus. You will also receive a tax-free monthly accommodation allowance should this be required.
