The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a high-performing commercial team supporting large-scale residential developments. You’ll work closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of development and building the technical and commercial skills needed for a long-term career in housebuilding.

You’ll work closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of development and building the technical and commercial skills needed for a long-term career in housebuilding.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and issuing subcontract packages, tender returns, and comparisons.
- Support with on-site measurements and the valuation of works completed.
- Help track project costs, cash flow, and variations across live projects.
- Liaise with internal departments, including construction, planning, and technical teams.
- Prepare and maintain relevant commercial documentation and reports.
- Monitor subcontractor payments and support financial closeouts.
- Attend site visits and progress meetings with senior team members.
- A degree (or working towards one) in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related discipline.
- 1–2 years' industry experience, ideally within residential construction.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt within a fast-paced project environment.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic QS tools/software.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills.
