Job description

A Tier One Project Management and Engineering Consultancy requires a Project Engineer (Telecoms) to support ongoing Network Rail projects across the UK. This is a fully REMOTE position, which may require some site or office visits from time to time. 

The initial contract duration will be 6 months, although it is highly likely to be extended. The offered rate is £375 per day (inside IR35). 

This represents a great opportunity to secure a long-term, stable contract position.

You’ll be right for the position if you:
  • Hold a technical qualifications to HND or degree or equivalent level
  • Have experience in the management of outside and third-party activities and mitigation of risk 
  • Engineering management and assurance of projects to NR standards: RSE/02009, CIV/003 Leading and managing teams of engineers and designers, following systematic project management processes
  • Be highly experienced in the Telecommunications discipline - have specific experience working in the vicinity of station buildings and platforms, and related to the design and installation of Rail industry products.

Other areas of responsibility:
  • Lead compliance with Network Rail engineering-driven safety requirements and provide technical advice, conditions and approvals consistent with Network Rail policies and standards on allocated schemes. 
  • Manage the mitigation of engineering and safety risks to the railway associated with proposed and real-time outside and third-party activities. 
  • Provide technical advice in respect of all engineering design, safe by design, technical specification and construction activities for safe delivery, including testing and commissioning and site supervision.
