Job description

People Group is currently in the process of recruiting for a Planning Lead on behalf of one of our global construction companies; to manage and oversee all the logistics, budgets, and scheduling on a large-scale Construction project based in Northwest London. This is a permanent role and has a salary of up to £110,000, including a travel package of up to £10,000.  The role will require the successful candidate to be on-site 4 days a week, with 1 day working from home.
As a Planning Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the entirety of the project through to completion. You will be ensuring all regulations are being met by all sub/contractors; assuring project delivery on time and within budget, to provide the successful and smooth operation of the project.
The Successful candidate will be an individual who can comfortably and confidently collaborate with and handle Project Managers/Directors to fulfill deadlines, but who also knows when it is necessary to push back and clarify when deadlines need amendment.
As a Project Lead, your principal role and responsibilities will include:
  • Establish working relationships with the internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
  • Establish and implement the Project Management Plan.
  • Develop the project budget and manage expenditure to achieve completion within budget.
  • Establish and control the project master program.
  • Monitor compliance with the construction program and identify mitigation plans if the project is delayed.
  • Proactively identify risks and formulate risk mitigation plans.
  • Chair meetings and ensure minutes are actioned promptly.
  • Provide regular reporting on project progress, risks, and costings.
  • Assess and resolve all site coordination issues.
  • Carry out contract administration duties including issuing payment certificates.
  • Manage the planning and implementation of all Health & Safety protocols before and during construction.
  • Manage and coordinate the project handover and close-out phases.
Essential Criteria:
  • Must have 5+ years of Construction Planning experience.
  • A strong, hardnose personality.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using Primavera P6.
  • Excellent Communication, Organisational, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
