MEP Development Manager

I have an excellent job opportunity for a MEP Manager support the Development business as part of the Product function, as a product manager for building services (MEPT) across the portfolio of residential, residential-led and mix use development projects in Europe, with potential to extend scope to asset types other than residential.
 
What will you be doing?
 
Skill set not only required on building services but to have a knowledge of other complimentary disciplines to provide a good understanding of building designs. Ownership of Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health and Technology (MEPT) components of the Product. Integration with Project Management, Design Management, Cost Planning functions day to day, along with all design and technical consultants, buildability and other pre-construction functions necessary to enable a development brief to be converted into a design brief and ultimately a de-risked  design solution that can be tendered, guaranteed and delivered by the preferred contractor within approved commercial assessment, budget, time, brief and planning requirements.
 
 

• To support the Development objectives & commercial requirements, manage the specialist, design, cost and pre-construction support services during the conversion phase of a project from its development inception (brief stage) including writing the design briefs or Stage 1 reports, to construction contract execution.
• Own and act as a guardian of the MEPT product standards and brief throughout the project lifecycle. Undertake ongoing review of the MEPT product standards from a safety, sustainability, experience and commercial efficiency standpoint
• Integrate continual improvement processes for the MEPT product. Collect input from across the business and across product lifecycle stages, evaluate proposed changes, manage approval and periodically iterate the product standards with approved changes
• Implement and help iterate the Post Occupation Evaluation process for the MEPT product, necessitating integration of requirements into the brief, incorporation of requirements within ERs and engagement with Delivery and Property Managers at handover and occupation
•  Ensuring data is collected from in use phase in accordance with the business POE blueprint and is surfaced to the necessary continual improvement processes to allow product iteration
• To manage the handoff of the design to the Pre-con teams post stage 3 submission, while remaining a key stakeholder to the MEPT design and cost plan process in conversion, with support from the development and cost plan teams. Responsible for managing the design within the cost plan and commercial development parameters including change control during the conversion process

Excellent design skills and command in balancing qualitative and technical aspects of design. You will have experience in the selection and procurement of designers on a competitive basis. Able to direct, and where necessary negotiate with, major design practices . Thorough knowledge of the complete design and construction process.
