MEP Design Lead – Data Centres
MEP Contracting / Building Services / Construction
Central London / Hybrid

My client is one of the major Mechanical & Electrical Contractors in the UK, renowned for delivering major Building Services schemes across the South East of England across various sectors including Commercial, Residential, Data Centres & Life Sciences.

As part of their new Data Centre division, they require an MEP Design Lead with an understanding of build and structural elements to fill an important, unprecedented vacancy in the team.

Building Services specialists with experience working for Design Consultancies, MEP Contractors and Main Contractors will be considered.

Duties include:
  • Assist with the procurement of external design consultants and BIM specialists
  • Produce, report against and update as necessary a design programme
  • Produce, report and update a design risk register
  • Produce, report and update a Discharge of Planning Conditions register (where appropriate)
  • Use design management delivery tools to monitor and control project coordination arrangements, including reporting on various inputs and outputs for overall project progress tracking and delivery.
  • Lead Data manipulation of Architecture, MEP, C&S Information together with project support functions.
  • Manage the design and interfaces between disciplines and subconsultants.
  • Carry out independent reading and research to support delivery of projects.
  • Liaison with various contractors, clients and internal/external consultants regarding delivery of projects.
  • Ensures document control requirements are fulfilled prior to issue of information by making sure drawings have correct titles etc and are in correct order.
  • Ensure compliance with BREEAM/LEED/WELL/WIRED SCORE etc certification requirements Manage the stage 5 drawing production process, ensuring working drawings are available prior to commencement of installation dates
  • Ensure stage 5 drawings are cognisant of DfMA strategy
  • Ensure stage 4/5 drawings are cognisant of commissionability reviews
  • Support Bid Teams with design reviews and presentation support materials
