Role: MEP Construction Manager (Electrical Bias)
Project: Super Prime Residential Project
Location: Mayfair, London
Type: Freelance/Contract
Duration: Until mid-2025
 
A leading tier one main contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Construction Manager with an electrical bias to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a prestigious super prime residential project located in Mayfair.

What will you be doing?
  • Team Collaboration and Mentorship: Operates within the project team, communicating and coordinating with colleagues, and providing guidance and mentoring to others.
  • Project Planning and Management: Oversees the completion of MEP installations, focusing on electrical installations and testing, utilizing installation expertise and the company's management processes.
  • Temporary Services Management: Plans, monitors, manages, and audits the site temporary services MEP installation (including subcontractor management) and testing.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Manages and liaises with project subcontractors, sub-subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring accountability for program, health, safety, welfare (HSW), and quality deliverables.
  • Interface Coordination: Manages onsite interfaces between different packages.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinates with key project stakeholders, including Design CMT and Construction teams.
  • Risk Management: Identifies risks and produces and implements mitigation plans.
  • Modern Construction Methods: Supervises the use of modern construction methods, learning about digital technologies and prefabrication.
  • Standards and Strategies Implementation: Ensures comprehensive implementation of business standards and project strategies onsite.
  • Sustainability Commitment: Works collaboratively towards net-zero carbon transition and proactively manages associated carbon emissions and reductions during project delivery.

  • Trade Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of building services engineering and electrical services, including installation and testing methods, best practices, and prefabrication for effective supervision, planning, and quality control of assigned packages or systems.
  • Other Trades Knowledge: Proficient understanding of other technical trades, basic installation techniques, prefabrication, and best practices to ensure coordination with other systems and packages.
  • Construction Build Elements: Proficient knowledge of construction build elements, including sequencing and dependencies for effective collaboration and coordination.
  • Commercial Management: Basic knowledge of commercial management to assist in commercial control of packages, such as handling clean-up notices, goods received, and contract charges between packages.
  • Planning and Management: Proficient in planning processes and management, understanding key construction release requirements, critical path systems, task/work scheduling, and commissioning activities.
  • Health, Safety & Welfare: Proficient knowledge of core HSW elements, including working from heights, electrical safety, fire safety, logistics, and lifting to ensure safe management of supply chain packages.
  • Quality Assurance and Commissioning: Proficient in quality assurance processes and commissioning of single systems to ensure full completion of packages or systems and assist in system integration.
  • Systems Integration: Basic understanding of system integration through Cause & Effect, Building Management Systems (BMS), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) periods.
