Mechanical Project Manager

A leading construction and engineering firm, renowned for delivering high-quality building services projects across various sectors—such as education, healthcare, commercial, and residential—is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Project Manager. The role is for an exciting commercial Shell & Core project located in Oxford. Currently in the early pre-construction stage, this project is expected to be completed by the summer of 2026. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the planning, coordination, and execution of the mechanical aspects of this significant development.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning and coordination of mechanical services, ensuring alignment with the overall project timeline and objectives.
  • Participate in the design development, cost planning, and scheduling during the pre-construction phase.
  • Supervise and manage both direct and subcontracted labor, ensuring adherence to schedules, plans, and quality standards.
  • Implement and maintain site Health & Safety protocols, ensuring Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMs) are current, relevant, and task-specific.
  • Liaise with clients, principal contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure effective communication.
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship and quality control throughout the project.
  • Manage stock control and pre-order necessary materials and fittings to minimise downtime.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including QA/Snag packs, test sheets, and results for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
  • Collaborate with all trades to minimise oversights and disruptions, ensuring smooth workflow.
