Are you an intermediate level Mechanical Project Engineer looking to help grow a division of a fast-expanding MEP contractor?
Our client is a market leader in the MEP infrastructure markets, with a large-scale pipeline of works in rail, energy & natural resources. One of their most successful divisions delivers works across multiple sectors (including traditional building services) in the Fire Suppression market - Wet & Dry Sprinklers, Deluge, Foam, Gaseous & Dry Riser / Dropper systems etc. You may also be needed to lend expertise to wider mechanical systems engineering.
We are looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to provide mechanical engineering support to projects through design to completion. This will involve all stages from tendering, design, installation, testing and commissioning. the successful individual will have management of Mechanical installations throughout the projects to ensure successful delivery from a HSE, programme, quality, compliance and commercial perspective.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Provision of Approved Design / Project Management duties, liaising with both the Client and Design Team’s representatives
- Manage and co-ordinate project matters, ensuring all Contracts are resourced and progressed in accordance with Client’s requirements.
- Actively participate in monthly management reviews and ensure any agreed actions are implemented as required.
- Assisting the estimating department with the planning / estimation of new tender enquiries where required.
- Review / agree project objectives from the outset.
- Co-ordinate project matters, ensuring all contracts are resourced and progressed in accordance with the client’s requirements.
- Ensures project documents are complete, current, and appropriately stored.
- Help maintain all job specific documentation, incl’ Method Statements, Risk Assessments, COSHH Data sheets, Cost Plan etc.
- Ensuring that the necessary quality and health and safety standards are met and maintained.
- Works closely with the Client’s team to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project(s).
- Update and agree if necessary monthly progress reports together with the percentages of installation work completed for incorporation within Applications for Payment.
- Assist the Procurement Department in choosing materials and selection of any specialists and sub-contractors as required.
- Monitoring sub-contractors to ensure guidelines are maintained.
- Identify project Labour resources and assign responsibilities.
- Undertake such duties as the department head might reasonably request from time to time.
- Knowledge of relevant Mechanical installations legislation and standards, BIM and design modelling standards and all other associated standards and legislation.
- Knowledge of design processes and associated compliance
- Minimum of HND in Mechanical Engineering
- SMSTS
- CSCS Card
- Fires suppression system knowledge desired but not essential
