Job description

Position: Mechanical Lead 
Location: London
 
An excellent job opportunity for a Mechanical Lead to work for a leading international tier one main contractor. This position is to work on a new modern commercial office build project based in the heart of London.

What will you be doing:

  • Overseeing the production and agreement of logic linked programmes, preconstruction, construction and commissioning
  • Production and agreement of weekly dependency schedule production to progress works in line with programme
  • Managing, monitoring and recording of weekly look ahead plan for resource and progress
  • Understanding of dependencies, problems posed and available resolutions
  • Managing and sequencing of subcontractors in line with programme requirements
  • Assisting with the production and agreement of project health and safety plans
  • Monitoring of installation works to ensure compliance with the business standard processes
  • Monitoring of installation works to ensure compliance with project strategies/plans
  • Monitoring of sub-subcontractor health and safety documentation ensuring validity and supply chain works onsite in line with approved RAMS
  • Producing of sub-subcontractor tender information i.e., scope of works, interfaces schedules, pricing schedules, demarcations. Managing of procurement of sub-subcontractors’ packages in line with business and project strategies/plans
  • Managing of sub-subcontractors’ scope via a profit and loss reporting including attendance in project level package commercial reviews
  • Managing of sub-subcontractors’ package risk register and weekly dependency schedule production to progress works in line with programme
  • Monitoring recording and challenging of weekly look ahead plan for resource and progress
  • Producing of detailed site instruction and BWIC request via descriptions, sketches, site photos for incorporation by the commercial team
  • Monitoring and auditing of MEP installation works to ensure compliance with construction status drawings i.e., line and level throughout the installation duration, spot checks to be undertaken
  • Production and agreement of the commissioning strategy, management of close out items for package
  • Attending commissioning meetings with detailed knowledge of programme, issues and resolutions

You are digitally astute and can build lasting client relationships. Experience leading on large signature commerical, major projects or residential projects in the UK is essential. Detailed knowledge of MEP packages including installation techniques, best practice, and single system commissioning requirements. You will have a commercial project experience, construction or project management background and be hungry to grow your career.
