Job description

Are you an established leader with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of advanced/high tech manufacturing and/or data centre sector, with a solid foundation within the construction consultancy world?
 
Our client, a leading construction consultancy, is looking to appoint a director level candidate to lead a new division of their business. As the Business Unit Lead of Advance Manufacturing and Data Centres, you will direct and oversee the operational business and be accountable for business unit KPIs & business outcomes.  You will be responsible for developing and delivering the strategy & business plan for the business unit, working with leadership roles across the business to ensure adherence and consistency of policy, processes, and procedures.

Your core responsibilities will be:
 
  • Leadership of the overall delivery of strategy, objectives & all projects for the Advance Manufacturing and Data Centre business unit
  • Accountable for delivery of annual financial and operating targets for the business unit, leads effective cost management, ensuring budgets are met and utilises data & analysis to drive continuous business improvements. Monitors progress on business unit portfolio objectives & deliverables.
  • Oversees & promotes effective relationships externally with all clients, suppliers, partners & internally across the
  • Accountable for identifying, managing & mitigating business risks across the market & portfolio; highlighting high levels of risk to the global lead.
  • Oversees the implementation of service excellence ensuring it is implemented, measured & monitored across the market &
  • Champions innovation & thought leadership in strategy, business planning & service delivery advocating new ideas, ways of working & efficiencies.
  • Accountable for ensuring required leadership and capability is implemented to deliver the business ambition with robust resource planning and a talent pipeline matching business demand.
  • Provides executive leadership and direction across the business unit & across the business, supporting and mentoring senior leaders including succession planning, onboarding, training and diversity planning.
  • Provides thought leadership, industry expertise & expert counsel across the business unit portfolio to senior leadership

To be successful in this position, you will have:
 
  • Degree/Postgraduate (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or Construction Project Management ideally with professional membership of MRICS, CIOB, MICE or MAPM.
  • Comprehensive expertise and knowledge of the Advance Manufacturing and/or Data Centre sector
  • Comprehensive expertise & knowledge of Construction Consultancy
  • Advanced communication skills, effectively communicates at C-Suite & all levels in an
  • Advanced leadership Inspiring/transformational leadership
  • Demonstratable track record in a senior leadership/director role (or equivalent).
  • Highly advanced level of commercial awareness, consulting & strategic acumen.
