DfMA Project Manager

UK Nationals Only - Security Clearance Essential - UK Government defence site in Berkshire.

What you'll be doing
The DfMA Project Manager will be responsible for:
  • Strategising DfMA scope at RIBA stage 3 and developing through RIBA Stage 4.
  • Procurement of DfMA package – ensuring technical and commercial compliance.
  • Lead the design and engineering of DfMA structural steelwork, access / egress requirements and project specific fixing requirements.
  • Strategic management of associated delivery and logistical requirements.
  • Co-ordination management of associated MEP services within the DfMA products allowing for structural steelwork design and onsite spatial constraints.
  • Liaising with other trades to ensure correct interface management.
  • Organising and management of Mockups, Benchmarks and applicable QA inspections.
  • Management of manufacture, quality and compliance.
  • Management of pre-commissioning, commissioning, setting to work and handover activities in conjunction with other third-party supply chains.
  • The DfMA Project Manager shall hold overall responsibility for a whole discipline.

  • Ability to apply construction management principles at an expert level.
  • Supporting stakeholder management
  • Advanced IT skills for the use of BIM and construction management tools.
  • Detailed understanding of construction techniques, methodologies and management principles.
  • Knowledge of Budgeting and cost control with financial awareness of delivery targets
  • Understanding of M&E regulatory requirements and Standards
  • Detailed understanding of safety protocols and best practices
  • Knowledge of contract negotiation and procurement
  • Detailed understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes
  • Understanding of risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Understanding of environmental sustainability practices
  • Detailed understanding of construction technology and innovation
  • Understanding of digital implementation
  • Understanding of Legal considerations and dispute resolution
  • Experience in leading and developing a small single-disciplinary team.
  • Previous Construction Management experience within the relevant industry is required.
  • Involvement in developing and executing work package budgets.
  • Experience with work package scheduling and timeline management
  • Experience with regulatory agencies and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Advanced experience in handling safety management on construction sites and implementing safety protocols.
  • Awareness in negotiating contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Self-sufficient in resolving conflicts and addressing challenges during construction projects.
  • Experience in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
  • Experience in overseeing quality assurance and quality control processes
  • Awareness of implementing environmentally sustainable practices in construction projects.
