Role: Construction Manager
Location: London
We are currently in the process of hiring a Construction Manager to provide Day to day control and delivery of construction projects to meet client specifications (quality, time, etc.) such that all risk, specification and project timescales are met in full.
The successful candidate will be working and reporting directly to the lead project Manager as well as working closely alongside external client staff, key stakeholders, and the internal team. You will be expected to be fully responsible for the management of specific tasks while on-site.

The successful candidate will be working and reporting directly to the lead project Manager as well as working closely alongside external client staff, key stakeholders, and the internal team. You will be expected to be fully responsible for the management of specific tasks while on-site.
As a Construction Manager, your primary roles and responsibilities will include:
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of construction projects; time, procurement, contractors.
- Liaise with the Project Manager or Contracts Manager to ensure that they are fully aware of the project's progress and are notified of all financial, specification and time risks.
- Manage sub-contractors, including the monitoring of contractor attendance and progress; provide direct instruction and support as necessary such that contractual arrangements are achieved.
- Comply with Site Manager responsibilities as laid down in Rainsford’s Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and complete the relevant documentation on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Ensure that safe working practices and safety procedures are fully implemented across the site/project/contract.
- Ensure that detailed plans are available commensurate with the overall project plan such that material and resources can be delivered to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Ensure all materials are delivered to the site to meet production needs.
- Ensure that all additional work is identified and that the Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor or Contracts Manager is fully aware of all potential opportunities.
- Working under the direction of a Project Manager or Contracts Manager.
- Effective daily use of appropriate company information systems and databases.
- Comply with Company policies, procedures and instructions at all times.
- Implement new ideas and methods and continue to see ways of both improving contribution to the company’s goals and enhancing the reputation of the Company.
- Lead, motivate, communicate with, develop, appraise and performance manage staff to
- ensure staff are fully motivated to achieve best performance to meet the Company’s needs.
- Exhibits the Rainsford values and reinforces them throughout the site.
- Implement and promote equality and diversity in everything you do.
- Ensure that the Rainsford anti-bribery policy is strictly adhered to.
- Any other duties required to enable the company to respond effectively to the requirements of the Company.
- Strong knowledge of construction, construction management and design-build construction obtained through a combination of experience and education.
- Excellent people management skills.
- Strong self-management skills to ensure timely issue of project deliverables.
- Ability to monitor and review the as-built drawing process.
- Team player but also able to work on own initiative.
- Strong customer focus.
- Commercial, financial and contractually aware with good communication, inter-personal and negotiation skills.
