Position: Assistant Project Manager
Rate: Indicative Inside IR35
Location: Birmingham
Start date: April
Contract Duration: 9 months


People Group are looking to recruit a Assistant Project Manager from a Client Side background to work for a Train Operating Company.

Responsibilities
  • Helping to administer contract elements related to the delivery of the infrastructure project, ensuring adherence to the project programme and closely collaborating with the Project Manager
  • Administration of the delivery of construction documents produced by the appointed Design and Build contractor, reviewing detail and ensuring a high quality of work.
  • Managing communication and change control between stakeholders, including the client, the contractor and the Depot user population.
  • Checking and ensuring robust implementation of the contractor's programme
  • Preparing planning application documents including the environmental statement
  • Promotion of an exemplary Health and Safety culture

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Graduate Engineer or similar level of qualifications and proven work experience
  • Experience working in the UK rail industry client side
  • Understanding of Contracts and Contract Management, specifically NEC4 Contract
  • Experience in using recognised contract management techniques (e.g. CEMAR)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with project management software and financial systems is advantageous
