Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Sport Architect to join our multidisciplinary team in Riyadh. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, design leadership, and project delivery experience across large-scale sports, leisure, and mixed-use developments. This role involves working on high-profile projects that align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiatives and global standards in sports infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the architectural design and delivery of sports and recreational facilities, ensuring alignment with client objectives and international standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, MEP, and landscape professionals to achieve integrated project outcomes.
- Manage design documentation, specifications, and approvals throughout all project stages—from concept through to construction and handover.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site analysis, and master planning for sports complexes and venues.
- Ensure compliance with FIFA, IOC, FINA, and other international sports federation guidelines as applicable.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and authorities to support project approvals and design excellence.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior architects and design staff.
- Review contractor and consultant submissions to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to design intent.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Membership: Chartered or professionally affiliated membership preferred (e.g., RIBA, AIA, LEED AP, or equivalent).
- Experience:
- Minimum overall relevant experience: 15 years
- Experience in similar projects: 7 years (sports architecture and related facilities)
- Regional experience (GCC/Middle East): Minimum 5 years
- Proven experience delivering major sports and entertainment venues, stadiums, training facilities, or large-scale recreational complexes.
- Strong understanding of local building codes, regulatory frameworks, and sustainability standards.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, and BIM coordination.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and smart city integration.
- Experience working within PMC or consultancy environments on complex, fast-track projects.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet tight deadlines.
