Site Manager

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a £500k housing refurbishment project in Harpenden. This is a great opportunity to take charge of a major project and ensure its successful completion.

Key Details:

• Location: Harpenden, Hertfordshire
• Project Duration: 28-30 weeks
• Type of Work: Pure renovation and extension with some structural alterations, including new steel installations.
• Client Liaison: Most of the client communications will be managed by the Operations Director, though the client may visit the site occasionally as they live nearby.

Responsibilities:

• Take the lead on-site as the Site Manager and oversee day-to-day operations.
• Coordinate all aspects of the refurbishment, ensuring the project stays on schedule and within budget.
• Supervise and liaise with contractors and sub-contractors.
• Report progress to the Operations Director, who will visit the site once a fortnight.
• Ensure smooth communication between the team and the client.
• Manage any changes or issues that arise during the renovation process.

Requirements:

• Experience in housing renovations and refurbishment projects, with a strong understanding of the process.
• Computer literate, with the ability to use project management software and basic office tools.
• Strong leadership skills, able to manage the site effectively and ensure high standards of work.
• Excellent communication skills, both for liaising with the client and managing the team on-site.
• Ability to handle structural alterations and work with contractors on a variety of tasks.
