Senior Health & Safety Consultant

People Group is currently supporting a growing construction consultancy in the search for a CDM Consultant / Principal Designer to join their expanding team.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety professional looking to work within a collaborative consultancy environment across meaningful projects in the education and healthcare sectors delivering schemes that genuinely make a difference to communities and public environments.
 
The business has built a strong reputation for providing specialist project and estates consultancy services, with an impressive pipeline of work and a growing project management division. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to strengthen their CDM and Principal Designer offering with the addition of an ambitious and motivated professional.
 
The Opportunity

You’ll play a key role supporting the pre-construction and project delivery phases across multiple schemes, working closely with clients, contractors, consultants, and design teams to ensure compliance, safety, and best practice throughout the project lifecycle.
 
This role offers a varied workload, autonomy, and the chance to work closely alongside experienced project professionals in a supportive environment where development is encouraged.
 
Responsibilities

• Act as Principal Designer in line with CDM 2015 Regulations
• Provide health & safety and CDM advice to clients, consultants, and contractors
• Manage and review pre-construction information
• Prepare and review risk assessments and method statements
• Conduct site inspections and compliance reviews
• Attend project meetings and advise on project safety matters
• Prepare Health & Safety Files and project documentation
• Deliver training and workshops to stakeholders where required
• Support a positive culture around health, safety, and compliance

Senior Health and Safety Consultant

• Previous experience within a CDM / Health & Safety consultancy role
• Strong understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification
• Membership of APS, IOSH, or a similar professional body
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects
• Experience within education and healthcare environments would be advantageous
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
