Job description

This is a great opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to secure a client facing position and lead across all commercial activity on a key framework.

Joining a Contractor that specialises in wet and marine civil engineering projects, you'll be working with a non-adversarial client and acting as the commercial lead on a framework that has annual revenue of around £8M. Projects would generally be between £10k to £1.5M. The form of contract is NEC, options A, C and E.

I think the main benefits you'll get from taking this position are responsibility and autonomy. You'll be overseeing the full project lifecycle. working from tender stage through to final account. You'll be doing 100% of what a Quantity Surveyor should be doing, not just one part over and over again. You'll really get to hone your craft and build upon your experience.

You'll be joining a small commercial team, currently seven strong, and be closely mentored and coached by your Senior Quantity Surveyor and the Commercial Director. The team are a really friendly bunch and there's a decent social set up, with regular events and away days.

To be successful in this role, you will:
  • Hold a HNC, HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying (they could offer a training agreement if you're still studying)
  • Exposure and familiarity with the NEC form of contract
  • At least 12 months experience in industry, gained working for a Civils Contractor on small value infrastructure projects

On offer is a salary of between 35,000 – 45,000 per annum, a profit share bonus, 25 days holiday and a fully expensed company car
