Location: London, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds

Our client, a privately owned, leading global construction and consultancy firm are interested in meeting experienced Quantity Surveyors who are passionate about cost and commercial management. We are looking to recruit a Cost Consultant and Senior Cost Consultant that specialises in MEP, who has a mix of property and infrastructure project experience.

We are looking to recruit a Cost Consultant and Senior Cost Consultant that specialises in MEP, who has a mix of property and infrastructure project experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting feasibility studies and advising on procurement strategies and contract selection
- Writing and undertaking procurement reports
- Applying value management techniques at the outset of a project
- Managing, estimating, and planning costs, including taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan
- Negotiating and agreeing on final accounts
- Representing the firm to clients, stakeholders, and other consultants at all project stages
- Handling contractual frameworks and standard forms of contract
- Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, and products to enhance the services provided to clients
About you:
- Previous experience in a cost consultancy practice in a similar role (preferred, not essential)
- Knowledge of MEP systems and experience working across multiple sectors
- You will ideally be MRICS or working towards chartership.
- Essential experience with JCT and NEC forms of contract
- Expertise in cost planning, budgeting, and estimating
- Strong knowledge of contract law and contractual frameworks in construction
- Proven ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration
- Understanding of value engineering and life cycle costing
- Familiarity with industry best practices
- Awareness of hot topic issues such as Sustainability, Social Value, and Carbon Reduction impacting the Public Sector
- Capability to analyse and provide advice on Capex versus Opex costs
