Job description
We are supporting a privately owned Civil Construction Contractor with the recruitment of a Project Planner. This site based position will find you responsible for supporting with the delivery of a recently secured project near Groningen.
As the Principal Contractor they are responsible for delivering scope to include piling, foundations and utilities corridor. Under a separate contract they are constructing the superstructure and envelope. The total value of both contracts is around €100M.
This position would suit an established Planner with demonstrable experience in managing, monitoring and integrating programmes on projects of a similar nature and value. It's pretty vital that you are well versed in Primavera P6, have strong experience in value loading and knowledge of earned value management.
This is a great time to join a smaller, privately owned Contractor which has ambitious growth plans for their European business unit. Your contribution will be recognised and valued and you will be known by your name, not your payroll number.

Key responsibilities:
- Assist other planners in the team on their projects, providing planning support and mentoring them
- Ensure proper integration of design and procurement elements of programmes with construction phases
- Produce integrated tender programmes and present proposals to settlement meeting
- Change management: review programme impact of changes and advise on EOT requirements
- Produce schedules as well as obtaining approvals from clients for both programmes and EoTs
- Set up appropriate lean visual programme to assist the Project Team to timely deliver projects and improve productivity, performance and safety of projects
To be successful in this role, it is likely that you:
- Hold a relevant degree qualification in engineering or construction, or hold extensive practical experience
- Ideally have a background in operational roles, for example as a Site Engineer or Site Agent, along with demonstrable experience in working as a Project Planner
- Have strong knowledge of planning and scheduling systems, mainly Primavera P6
- Ideally you will hold a passport that gives you full working rights across the EU, but please note that this is not essential. Visa's can be procured if you're the right person for the role.
