I’m currently working with an established and growing Chartered Building Surveying consultancy based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. The practice is looking to appoint an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor MRICS to join their team.

The Role
You’ll be working within a collaborative team environment, delivering a broad range of building surveying services across sectors including social housing, education, insurance, commercial, and charity.
 
The role offers real variety and autonomy, with responsibility for managing your own projects while also supporting and mentoring junior team members.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Managing your own portfolio of projects and professional instructions
  • Delivering a mix of project and professional building surveying services
  • Contract administration across a range of schemes
  • Producing specifications and technical reports
  • Supporting and mentoring junior surveyors
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Identifying opportunities for further business development
 
Successful Chartered Building Surveyor
  • MRICS qualified (essential)
  • Strong experience across both professional and project work
  • Solid understanding of JCT contracts
  • Excellent knowledge of construction technology
  • Experience in specification writing and contract administration
  • Ideally exposure to sectors such as social housing (desirable)
  • Highly organised, personable, and client-facing
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Additional Advantage (Not Essential)
  • Experience or interest in retrofit / sustainability projects
