Running with a purpose

Running a half marathon is an impressive feat on its own, but doing so to raise funds and awareness for a worthy cause is even more admirable. And that's exactly what Dave Lyon did when he took on the challenge of running a marathon to support Mind.

Mind is a UK-based charity that provides support and resources for individuals who are struggling with mental health issues. The organisation offers a range of services, including counselling, advocacy, and community support, with the aim of helping people to achieve better mental health and wellbeing.

For Dave, the cause was close to his heart, as he had seen the impact of mental health issues on people he knew and cared about. So, he decided to take action and use his passion for running to make a difference.

Training for a marathon is no small feat, and it takes a lot of dedication and hard work. Dave put in countless hours of training, often waking up early to run before work and fitting in long runs on weekends. But he knew that the effort was worth it, as every mile he ran was helping to raise funds and awareness for Mind.

As the day of the marathon approached, Dave was filled with a mix of nerves and excitement. He knew that the race would be tough, but he also knew that he had the support of his friends, family, and colleagues behind him.

Thanks to Dave’s efforts, he was able to raise a significant amount of money for Mind and help to raise awareness about the importance of mental health. His dedication to the cause serves as an inspiration to others, showing that even small actions can make a big impact. By using his love of running to support a worthy cause, he was able to make a difference in the lives of others. It's a reminder that we all have the power to make a positive impact, no matter how big or small our actions may seem.
